Every Friday evening the fishing village of Gros Islet closes its streets for a party that has run for decades. Stalls sell barbecued chicken, fish, conch and lobster in season, bars pour rum punch and Piton beer, and sound systems play soca, dancehall and reggae until late.
Go hungry, bring cash, and keep valuables light. Taxis are easy from Rodney Bay; it is a short ride.
